Planet Hairball is made by Tiny Tiny Games LLC ("we"). These are the rules for playing it. By playing, you agree to them. If you're under 18, please read them with a parent or guardian. How we look after your data is on the privacy page.

Playing

• The game is free to play. There are no accounts or passwords: your cat lives on your device, with a copy on our server so it isn't lost (see privacy).
• Children are welcome. Players under 13 play with a few things switched off, and nobody can message anybody: the only things other players see are made-up names, cats' looks and scores.
• If you clear your browser's data, your cat can only come back with a recovery code or passkey you made in ⚙️ Settings, or from a device you linked. Without one, we can't find it for you.

Treats and items

• 🐟 Treats, and everything you get with them (outfits, rooms, places, cards, cars and the rest), are part of the game. They have no value in money, can't be sold, traded or swapped for anything outside the game, and can't be turned into money.
• You can't buy treats with money. If that ever changes, these terms will say so first.
• To keep the game fair and fun, we may change prices, how many treats things pay, and what's for sale, and we may take back treats or items given by mistake (for example, by a bug).
• Your treats and items are for playing with as long as the game is running. They aren't property you own, and if the game ever closes, they go with it.

Play fair

Please don't:

• cheat: change the game's code or your save, use bots, scripts or tools that play for you, or send made-up scores;
• use bugs to get treats, items or scores (please tell us about them with 🐞 Report a problem in ⚙️ Settings instead);
• make extra cats to collect gifts, challenge prizes or leaderboard prizes;
• try to break into, overload or get around the limits of our server, or reach anything that isn't the game;
• use the game to bother, scare or hurt anyone.

If you do, we may remove your scores, keep you off the leaderboards, take back treats or items, or delete your cat, without warning. We decide what counts as cheating, and we try to be fair.

Leaderboards

• Everyone on a leaderboard has a made-up name the game picks. Scores that look impossible may be held while we check them, and we may remove any score.
• Weekly prizes are treats in the game, nothing else. We may change or stop them.

Friends and playing together

• Friends see your made-up name, your cat's look, your scores and when you last played. You can remove or block anyone, any time, from 👫 Friends.
• Games together need an internet connection and both players' devices. If one drops out, the game does its best to carry on, but we can't promise every game finishes.

Our game

• Planet Hairball, its pictures, music, code and characters belong to Tiny Tiny Games LLC. All rights reserved.
• You're welcome to share screenshots, clips and videos of yourself playing, and to stream it. Please don't copy the game, its code or its art to make or sell something else.
• We keep changing the game: adding things, changing them, and sometimes taking them away, resetting leaderboards or balancing treats. We may also stop it altogether one day.

The legal bits

• The game is provided "as is". We work hard on it, but we can't promise it will always be online, free of bugs, or that a save will never be lost.
• As far as the law allows, Tiny Tiny Games LLC isn't responsible for any loss or harm from playing or not being able to play, and if we're ever found responsible, it's limited to what you paid us to play (which is nothing). Some places don't allow these limits, and then they apply only as far as allowed. Nothing here takes away rights the law gives you.
• You can stop playing any time, and delete your cat and its data from ⚙️ Settings (🗑️ Delete my cat and data). We can stop providing the game to anyone who breaks these rules.
• These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, apart from its rules about which place's laws apply. If a law where you live gives you more protection, that protection still applies to you.

Changes

If these terms change, this page will show a new date at the top, and for anything big the game will tell you first (on its ✨ What's new card or with a 📬 message). Playing after a change means you're OK with it.
